Weather
Seasons in the southern hemisphere are opposite those in the northern hemisphere. In other words, winter up there is summer down here. November through February, temperatures here can get quite warm--over 100 degrees Farenheit. The sky is gorgeous and the beaches are teeming. Fortunately, this is also the rainiest time of the year, and you can sometimes rely on a good, mild shower to cool things down.
June through August, Rio temperatures are milder--say 65 degrees to 85 degrees Farenheit--making nights cool and comfortable, and days (this being the driest part of the year) still quite good for laying on the beach.
Those are the generalizations. The particulars are trickier. Weather is notoriously hard to predict here, and the only ones who seem to know reliably when it will rain are the beach vendors. The only way to get some idea is to take a consensus. This is where the fun starts. Different services vary widely and hilariously over even the current state of the weather. Climatempo, a Brazilian service, is usually the most reliable, but don't count on even them for anything further out than tomorrow: the forecast changes frequently. If they all agree, there's a chance that's what the weather will be.
So here, we present our version of the "Weather Jackpot:"
